Privacy policy
Last updated: 27 October 2026
Smart One is a player for the playlists you bring yourself. This policy says, in plain words, what the app keeps on your phone, what it sends, to whom and why. It covers Smart One 2.0 on iPhone and iPad.
At a glance
• No Smart One account: no sign-up, no e-mail address, no password.
• No analytics: we don't measure what you watch or how you use the app.
• We never sell or rent your data.
• Your playlists, favorites and history stay on this device.
• Data leaves the phone only for what is described below: your provider, ads on the Free plan, purchases, Scores, Support, Chromecast and Downloads.
What stays on this device
Smart One keeps these in its private storage on your iPhone or iPad: your playlists (name, server URL, username and password, or the M3U link or file and the TV guide link), favorites, collections, resume points, recent channels, pinned categories, reminders, your settings and the parental lock PIN, stored only as a salted hash and never as the PIN itself. None of it is copied to our servers. Removing a playlist removes everything that belongs to it; deleting the app removes it all.
Your IPTV provider
Smart One has no channels, films or series of its own. It connects straight to the server of the provider you added, sends the login details or link you entered, as any IPTV player must, and receives the lists, posters and streams from it. The app introduces itself to the provider as Smart One with its version number. Your provider sees these requests and your IP address, and its own privacy policy applies to what it does with them.
The settings file
When it starts, the app downloads a small settings file from our server: whether ads are on and how often they appear, the support address and the preferred football leagues. Nothing about you is added to that request. Like any web request it shows your IP address to the server; we don't use it to identify you.
TV guide
Programme listings come from your provider, or from the TV guide link you added to an M3U playlist. They are downloaded directly from there and cached on this device so the guide opens quickly. We never see what you browse in the guide.
Reminders
A reminder is a local notification that iOS schedules on this device, 5 minutes before the programme starts. Nothing is sent anywhere. iOS asks for notification permission the first time you tap “Remind me”, and you can change your answer at any time in the iOS Settings app.
Ads and tracking
On the Free plan, Smart One shows ads from Google AdMob. Where the law requires it (for example in the European Economic Area, the UK and Switzerland), Google's consent form first asks how your data may be used for ads; you can change your answer later with the ad privacy choices in Settings. iOS then asks whether Smart One may track you across other companies' apps and websites. If you allow it, Google may use your device's advertising identifier to show ads closer to your interests; if you don't, the ads are less personal. Every channel plays the same either way. Google receives technical data such as your IP address, device type and how you interact with ads, under its own privacy policy. With Smart One Premium there are no ads and the app makes no ad requests at all.
Purchases
Smart One Premium is bought through the App Store: Apple handles the payment and we never see your card or your Apple ID. RevenueCat keeps track of the subscription for us; it receives a random purchase id, your App Store receipts and basic device details so the app knows whether Premium is on. If you subscribed in an earlier version of Smart One, the app reuses that version's purchase id so your Premium carries over.
Scores
The Scores section loads matches, team logos and flags from Holoduke's football data service. Each request carries only the date, your time zone offset and the app version, never personal data or anything about your playlists; like any web request it shows your IP address to that service. The “Watch” button searches your own playlist on this device, and that search never leaves the phone.
Support
Support needs no account. When the app starts, it signs in silently to our support server (hosted on Cloudflare) with a random install id kept in the iOS Keychain: it is not your advertising id, and it survives a reinstall. Along with that id it sends the app version, device model, iOS version, language, your subscription status and purchase id, and your country, worked out from the connection (the IP address itself is not stored). Then come the tickets and messages you write. Your playlists are sent only when you tick “Share my playlists with support”: the name, type, server, username, password, M3U link and TV guide link of each one. Shared playlists are erased when the ticket is closed; everything else is kept until you tap “Delete my support data”, after which the app signs in again only if you open Support. We use this data only to answer you.
Chromecast
Smart One looks for Chromecast and Google TV devices on your Wi-Fi only after you tap the cast button; iOS then asks for local network access, which you can turn off in the iOS Settings app. When you cast, the app sends the TV the title, the artwork and the stream address (for Xtream Codes playlists that address contains your username and password, just like your provider's own links), and the TV plays the stream directly from your provider. Casting uses Google's Cast software, covered by Google's privacy policy.
Downloads
Films and episodes you download come straight from your provider and are saved in Smart One's private storage on this device. They are excluded from iCloud backup and never appear in Photos or Files. When a download finishes the app may show a notification, but only if you have already allowed notifications. Deleting a download, its playlist or the app removes the files.
Data from the previous version
If you used an earlier version of Smart One on this phone, version 2.0 moved its data once, on its first launch: playlists, favorites, categories, history, resume points, the parental lock PIN, the language and finished downloads. The move happens entirely on the device; nothing is sent anywhere.
E-mail support
If you tap “Email us”, your mail app opens with our address. We receive only what you decide to send, with your e-mail address, and use it only to reply to you.
Children and the parental lock
Smart One is not aimed at children and does not knowingly collect data from them. The parental lock hides sections, categories or channels behind a 4-digit PIN. The PIN is checked on the device and never sent anywhere, which is also why we can't recover it for you.
Your choices and rights
• Remove a playlist, clear your watch history or delete downloads whenever you like.
• Change your ad privacy choices in Settings, and tracking in the iOS Settings app.
• Erase what our support server holds with Settings → Support → Delete my support data.
• Deleting the app removes everything it stored on this device. The support install id stays in the iOS Keychain, so delete your support data first if you want it gone from our server too.
• Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct or erase data about you, or to object to its use. Write to us and we will answer within one month.
Changes to this policy
When this policy changes, we update it in the app and change the date at the top. Changes that matter for your data are also mentioned in the update notes on the App Store.
